I've been reading a lot of George R. R. Martin's Song of Fire and Ice series (the basis for the series Game of Thrones on HBO). In the books, ravens are used as a sort of iron-age telegraph system for sending messages. But they almost always bring bad news. As the saying goes, 'Dark wings, dark words'.

I love this ominous silhouette design. And if you want to pretend that its a crow or raven or condor or hawk or some other favorite bird, I will never tell.

This book bag is nice and sturdy. All of the seams are double stitched. The shoulder strap is comfortable cotton webbing with antique brass slider and D-ring. It has a larger interior space; full width flap with magnetic snaps and a decorative raw edge; exterior and interior zippered pockets; storage side pockets. I can fit my laptop and a couple thick college text books easily inside. The side pockets are great for your phone and water bottle.

The bag is 100% cotton heavy enzyme-washed canvas and completely washable, but I'd recommend turning it inside out to protect the appliqués. The appliqués are eco-felt, recycled from post-consumer waste plastic bottles.
